Prospective DAW Build
So after days of reading, agonising and second guessing. I think I have my build model, now I'm looking to the experienced here to scrutinize and point out how I may improve it. There are a couple of compatibility niggles too I think. So in order to play, record and monitor in real time, utilize virtual instruments and doing complex mixes (while keeping a close eye on the pennies) I've gone from an inital AU$1990 build down to AU$1354 one. Of course if I can get that down even more without sacrificing, speed, quality, silence etc etc that would be the promised land. Case: Fractal Design Define XL USB 3.0 Full Tower Titanium Mother: Asrock Z77-EXTREME4 Z77/4 x DDR3/2 x PCI-E3.0/4 x SATA3/6 x USB3.0/HDMI/D CPU: Intel Core i7 3770K/3.50GHz/8MB CACHE/LGA1155 Ivy Bridge Cooler: Prolimatech Genesis CPU Cooler Ram: Corsair 16GB (2x8GB) CMZ16GX3M2A1866C10R Vengeance Performance Memory Module DDR3 1866MHz Unbuffered PSU: OCZ Fatalt1ty 550W Modular PSU SSD: 2X Intel SSD 120GB 330 Series SATA III 6Gb/s, 25nm, MLC, read/write speed 500/450MB/s HDD: 2X Western Digital 1TB SATA3 HDD 64M Caviar Blue WD10EZEX Fans: 2X Noctua 120mm NF-S12B ULN 700RPM Fan All components would be purchased from

which seems to have the best prices downunder, unless any aussies here can recommend somewhere else?. The compatibility doubt I had was with the Genesis Cooler and the Fractal Case etc.

Looking forward to the discerning eyes of the members. Thank you, Mark

I am looking in to building myself soon, the drivers intimidating to me. Many people use Newegg for parts and Amazon.
