No quick open entries

This is not a terrible problem, but it bothers me.  After installing X2 Producer, I have opened some old projects from X1 that I have on another drive.  I then "Saved As" the project in the Cakewalk Projects folder and go on my merry way editing and messing with them, saving them when I close out of X2.  However, the next time I open Sonar, they do not show up when clicking on the "Recent Projects" or in the "Open Projects" icons.  If I just hit "Cancel" and go to File>Open, there they are, but not in the opening screen dialogue box.  Anybody else run into this?

If you have more than one place to store projects you will always need to go to the one that is not listed in the files folders in preferences. Sonar can't have more than one default for this.

I'm not sure why the quick start or the recent list wont show the proper files though. It does on mine.

Thanks John, and yes understood.  That is why when I open the X1 project from the USB hard drive, I resave it in X2 in the Cakewalk Projects folder as defined in the Preferences section.  It is interesting that during the session, if I close a project, and click File>Open, the project will show up in the numbered list (the recently opened files) at the bottom of the drop-down menu; however if I close down Sonar and restart it, that project will not be listed as a recently opened file.  It should be noted, however, that I am having another problem with Sonar (listed in another thread) that when I shut down Sonar X2, I cannot restart it unless I shut down the process SONARDPR.exe in the Task Manager first.  For some reason, Sonar is not shutting down this process.  I thought these were two different issues (hence the separate threads), but perhaps they are related in that the recently opened files are not being saved because Sonar is not shutting down properly?

I think you hit the nail on the head. Nuts! You do know you are not supposed to answer your own problems. You have to give us a chance to look good.

I would look for a device that is hanging Sonar up. Often its an M-Audio device. Be sure that you don't shut down anything until Sonar has closed.

Okay. It was a problem with the Microsoft GS Wavetable.  I could not uncheck the Microsoft GS Wavetable in the MIDI Devices in Preferences. Every time I tried, X2 would hang and Windows would shut it down. However, on a hunch I tried rebooting my machine and before doing anything else, I started X2 but did not open any projects. I went straight to preferences and unchecked the GS Wavetable. Voila! It accepted the change, and now I can shut down and restart to my little heart's desire.

That also solved the problem with recent files not showing up in the File drop-down menu. I suppose because it wasn't shutting down properly, it wasn't remembering the most recent files. It didn't help with my BReverb problem (different post) but hey, I'll take what I can get! Thanks John!
