Last Call - Reginald K.Son
Last Call Last one for 2012 folks. Shutting the studio down for a spell and going to reflect on 2012. A few highs, several lows but all learning experiences. I look forward to writing great songs in 2013 with some newfound overseas friends/musicians and getting better at my craft. Cheers and Happy Holidays, Reginald K.Son FYI - it's an open download, if you like "Last Call", please have it.

Nice. I really like this. Love the way it progresses. I do find it a little discordant at times. I understand the musical use of dissonance, and I think I know what you were trying to accomplish, but it sounds to me like you and your bgv are clashing pitch wise. One or both are a few cents out. It almost sounds like tape wow at times... stretched and pitched down. I think the lead vocals just need a bit more practice, but the bgv might need some pitch correction. JM2C - Shad

Agree with Shad's comments, but I like the song a lot, very laid back and chilled. Reminds me of The Lighthouse Family.

Thanks guys for your opinions, from both sides of the fence. I realize that when you put your stuff up here, you open yourself up to scrutiny. I'm cool with that. I'm just here to tell you that this song was theraputic for me after being rear-ended at a stop sign by an illegal. I could barely sit up at the piano/keyboard bench while doing it due to back injury, and, I was on pain pills while singing. :-) That was some pretty good stuff. Anyway, I wanted to finish the tune before 2012 was over. Mission accomplished. Could it have been better if I was at capacity? Maybe. Like it or not, good, bad or ugly it is what it is. Checkmark and it's in the can. Last Call... Happy Holidays, Reginald K.Son

Enjoyed this material a lot (I listened to several). Pacific drive was also very cool. Favorite was I’ll Do Better but that could just be the way I was brought up. I am not familiar with this style - it’s very moody, slick and way too cool for me. But I like it - in much the same way that I like Bob Telson ("Calling You" - Bagdad Café). No crits from me other than an occasional vocal note that might be marginally off - tough to say, in the end it didn't keep me from getting into it. Love the production - airy but full sounding (if that makes any sense). Don’t stop.
