They were interviewing Noddy on 5 Live this morning, he can still belt out those high notes in his gravelly voice

Noddy Holder has one of the best rock voices of all times, and John Fogerty as well, in the same tone category.

Slade were my first ever 'favourite' band And aside from making some great rock & roll records, they were a wonderful live band. There are only eight 'long-lived' bands whose complete album back catalogue I own on vinyl and/or CD, and Slade are one of them. Added to these eight, there are two other bands who I own everything bar a couple of albums. And there's a juicy YHBT for anyone correctly guessing all nine! My first ever 7" single purchase was Gudbuy T' Jane and my first LP was Old New Borrowed And Blue. And have I ever mentioned that my dear late aunt's partner taught Dave Hill music up in Wolverhampton

I had all Slade's singles up to about 1977, starting with 'Get Down Get With It' My favourite is ''Cos I Luv You', the way that violin comes in is sublime.

It's sad I know but whenever I think "Slade" these days, the image of Vic Reeves and Bob Mortimer pops into my head instead of the real deal.

But I'll give you 8/10 for being correct wrt to the Sex Pistols - I didn't count them as being 'long-lived' enough. I've only got a couple of Sabs albums mate, and only the first Skids LP, plus a few singles and a 'best of'.
