Is there a way to seperate notes from one controller and send to TWO tracks

I need to be able to play my controller and have certain notes go to ONE midi track, and other's go to another in real time.

So for example -

D - D# - E - G# - A - A# will go to track 1
F - F# - G - B - C - C#  will all go to track 2

This has to happen as I play so I can't just move the notes.

Any ideas would be appreciated :-)

Gavin

Off the top of my head, you can do this using drum maps (which are not just for drums).

    E.g.:

Load two synths, let's call them S1 and S2. Don't use instrument tracks and don't create the MIDI tracks, they're not needed and could conflict with the drum map set up next.

Create a MIDI track and using the output pull-down select "Drum Map Manager". Click "new" in that to edit the new map.

You can set each note to it's own MIDI channel and output port - synths S1 and S2 will be showing as available outputs.

Set up the map as required (and save as a preset if you think you'll need it again then set the input of the channel with the map on it to point to your controller.

If you need the MIDI to be recorded on different MIDI tracks (e.g. one per synth) rather than on the "drum map" I'm not sure if that's possible, at least not easily. The simplest way might be to record to the "drum map" track then cut/copy and paste the relevant notes to each synth MIDI track If you see what I mean.

    (edited for typos)

yeah thsts the best option for that kind of routing. the other thing to do is for a trafitional keyboard split to have the midi filter mfx on two separate midi tracks one pasding lower notes and one higher.

Hmmm, that's the way I've been doing it..the cheesy, sleazy, lazy *ss filter way.... works for me.
