Pentagon is worthless to me

I can't believe that Cakewalk actually charges money for this synth. Every fourth or fifth patch I try causes it to stop working. It's a very nice sounding synth -- it just doesn't work. I know there have been threads on this forum about this problem, but no one has offered a solution.
 
I'm using X2 64-bit (with the most recent update that came out today).
