french love

hi !
This is my slighty romantic xmas piece :) Its based around Dm,G and C (ii,v,i) Love this progression at the minute as the music seems to lift when the Dm goes to the G,and then brightens again on the C.Very simple but effective progression :)
The piece is called french love, please follow the link !!

Hey...very nice...liked the pizzacato strings a lot...my only crit is the sound of the cello line...I thought maybe a deeper sound along with an oboe might be nice...something about the tone I didn't like.  Other than that small thing, I thought it was well done and I enjoyed listening.  :)

    hey !
glad u liked the pizz strings :) I know what u mean about the cello. Its a solo cello, and its does have quite a bright gritty sound.I might try it with a bass clarinet.
    Thanks for listening !

Ah, if my son only had the time I'd ask him to add his live bandoneón to this exquisite piece.

Hmmm... mix seems narrow and biased to the right. The perc fills in the left near the end, but up till then it felt a bit odd. Fabulous composition. You should meet my friend Per from Sweden. He is a classical composer as well, and you both seem to have some remarkable ability.

    This is really nice!
To me it sounds more Spanish/Mexican than French, but what do I know?

    Hey Kev
Now that was a GREAT piece.  Love the arrangement with a few added instruments I didn't expect.  I agree with Shad in the beginning of this piece it sounded a bit narrow but widen nicely towards the end. Also IMO the verb on the pizz strings didn't fit the space you created. KUDOS!

    Hey !
Great tips thanks ! Ive played around with the verb on the strings a bit,and panned the intruments a little more to widen the mix.Someone mentioned it was heavy on the right side,I think it was,so I tried to balance this by putting a piano in the far left.
Think the mix is getting there a bit now :)
Thanks for listening, and glad u liked the piece ! merry xmas man !
