I have this terrible track... - Solved.

http://stabilitynetwork.blob.core.windows.net/g-tunes/Guitar_Jon.mp3

I have this track where the guitar player was using a bad wah pedal.

I try to use RMix to remove some of the band sound, but ...

When RMix is in the Pro Channel it doesn't work at all for me.

When RMix is in the regular FX Bin, it seems to work at first, but then the colored sound data on the left migrates right for some reason and RMix becomes useless.

I don't understand if I am mis-using the effect of if it just doesn't work at all for me. I expected it to work after the X2a patch.

So now, I guess I'll try to EQ out this bad sound? It crosses a huge range.  I don't really know how to fix this track or if it's fixable.

RMix working for everyone but me on mono tracks, I'll bet.

StudioCat > I use Windows 10 and Sonar Platinum. I have a touch screen.
I make some videos. This one shows how to do a physical loopback on the RME UCX to get many more equalizer nodes.

I believe that R-Mix needs a stereo file to work well.

there is a saying... you can't polish a turd

if it sounds that bad.. re-recording it is the better option, instead of wasting time hoping other things will do a far better job, a sticky plaster can only fix so much ;-)

    Thanks, guys, for even answering.

That makes the mixdown easy. I won't even try to fix it.

And John, thanks for answering about RMix. It's helpful to know to skip it for mono. I guess for mono one would just use eq, huh?
