Sonar X2: Can I slow down Guitar tracks from a CD to learn to play the lick?

I've never done it in Sonar but there's a great standalone tool I use to change time and pitch.

If you move the pointer to the end of a clip it turns blue. Press the Ctrl button and it turns yellow. Press and hold the left mouse button and you"ll see a percentage symbol. Drag while holding the mouse button to the right and experiment to find the tempo you want to work from. If the echo gets too overbearing highlight the section by clicking on that part of the clip and dragging through it. Right click on that section and from the drop down menu choose "Bounce to Clip(s)". This action will eliminate the annoying echo.

Pretty sure it can't be done in X2.

Everything you can possibly think of, "production wise," can be done in Sonar.  The program is beyond deep.  It is endless.  

Try using audiosnap.
 
rip the song to an audio track in X2
In track view, select the track, then use the "Audio Transients" view on the track drop-down. 
Open the Audiosnap panel (shortcut "A").
On the tempo, select the "Clip follows tempo" dropdown.  Make sure that "Auto Stretch" is selected.  Then turn on 'Clip Follows Project."
 
Now you can use the project tempo to speed up or slow down the track without changing pitch.
