I am a little confused (nothing new) about where to put Rock LEgends Kit 2 for SD3
I decided to use the 20 dollar off coupon on this. It wanted to install in a BFD Eco folder. First, I went with it wanted to do but no way could I get SD3 to see it. I am trying again to install it in a similar folder as the Andy Johns kit. SD3 sees it aand loads it however, this kit is (x86). I copied everything from the path to the AJ kit except I added (x86). It told me there was no such folder, do I want to create one, yes. So I am installing it there too. If I can figure out how to point SD3 to it I think I will be OK but I am not sure... and I am not sure I am doing the right thing. I wonder, if I install it in the programs (not x86) will it still be 64 bit. I may need some help. I really dont want these samples installed in several places on my HD. I haven't checked but I suppose they are now available to BFD Eco too, since it installed there first. I am not sure why something that Cake sold to me as a kit for SD3 is actually a BFD kit... it confuses me. Thanks for any help... J

BTW... it is also called Evil Drums Eco Kit 1 in the install. At the top of the install window it says Rock Legends Quickpack installer. I am wondering if I got what I bought... Anyway, I will see if I can get SD3 to find it now. J

I guess I will delete everything I downloaded and start over. BFD Eco cannot find it and neither can SD3.... Starting over. J

If you bought the Platinum Samples SD3 kits they are different from the ones for BFD and can only be used with SD3. SD3 can play kits located anywhere but I would integrate the expansion kits into the SD3 tree.

The installer should find the Session Drummer Content path in your registry and show that... usually it's C:\Program Files\Cakewalk\Vstplugins\Session Drummer 3 If the installer finds an x86 Program folder it will also give you the option of installing to: C:\Program Files (x86)\Cakewalk\Vstplugins\Session Drummer 3 or both... I just checked the installer and it says the correct product in the installer.... What's the path to your content on your system? Cheers, Rail

Thanks scook... I am trying. I downloaded from Cake, I think that was a mistake. I deleted everything and am downloading the zip files again from the Platinum Samples website. Maybe this will work. I am going to try to put it in the same place as the AJ kit that it will find. Perhaps when I unzip and install this time it will offer me the correct path. I am uncertain about all this. I've not done a lot with drums and expansion packs so installing them in the right place is something I am not comfortable with but I'll figure it out... if I get stumped I will post again. Thanks for responding! Julien

Thanks Rail, I think my mistake was downloading from my Cakewalk acct page. It only gave me a choice to install to BFD Eco something. The DL from PS is slow but I hope it will be what fixes this for me. If I get to the install page and it looks different I will post again. I don't know hw to do a screenshot but maybe my daughter does. Thanks for the help! J

That's a different product Have you registered the serial number you got from the Cakewalk store at the Platinum Samples website? Once you register the serial number you'll see the Rock Legends Kit 2 for Session Drummer 3 product listed... The download is much smaller than the BFD version which you're currently looking at in your screen shot. Cheers, Rail

I am going to delete browsing history, run CCleaner, and try again. I will download from my account at Cakewalk unless you think that is a mistake. I seem to get the zip files either way. I don't know why the Andy Johns kit went to the right place and I am having trouble with this. I am fairly certain that it is because of something I did wrong involving (x86) ... but I meant well... I will clean, reboot, and be back to check to see if you think I am on the right track. Thanks, J

There should be no downloads available at the Cakewalk store for any of our products... You should have been given a serial number and a link to our website with instructions on how to register the product. You log in at our website and register the serial number and you'll see the new product listed... Click on the product's image and you'll get to the download page... Similar to this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YSamlZsTihw Cheers, Rail

Have you registered the serial number you got from the Cakewalk store at the Platinum Samples website? I went to the PS website and it shows that I have two products registered. The AJohns and The Gretch Limited Ed. Rock Legends Kit... and no, I didn't register anything at the PS website recently. Geez, maybe I bought something and forgot about it. The SN on my Acct page at CW is different from the SN for the Gretsch kit. I will copy the SN from my acct and try registering a new product.... maybe that is the problem. Maybe I bought a kit for BFD Eco and forgot about it. I am absolutely capable of that.. Will try registering the CW SN now. BRB. J

OK... no wonder I was confused. I guess I have a Gretsch kit for BFD Eco and the Rock Legends Kit 2 for SD3. Sheesh, I feel stupid... Thanks for the help. I am sure all will go well now. I'll download and install this then delete my browsing history, run CCleaner and re download and install the Gretsch kit if it does not already show up in BFD Eco... I am getting around to trying to learn the drum programming. Sorry for the dumb questions... but thanks for the answers! Julien

I guess the question should be why did you choose to buy the Rock Legends kit for Session Drummer 3 when you already have the BFD version of that kit.... Email me if you want to exchange it for one of the other kits for Session Drummer 3 which you don't already own. You can email me at our support email https://www.platinumsamples.com/Contacts.html Cheers, Rail

I guess the question should be why did you choose to buy the Rock Legends kit for Session Drummer 3 when you already have the BFD version of that kit.... I guess te answer would be... I should pay more attention to what I have. I have been buying this and that, preparing to learn and buying when deals are to be had. I guess it is good to know that I know what sounds I like, even if I don't know what I have... lol. I already installed the SD3 version, it went well. I do not seem to have the BFD Eco installed, at least I don't see it when I open the standalone BFD Eco. I guess it would be good to have something else. Considering that I seem to like this kit, can you recommend something? I can uninstall the SD3 version or not install the BFD version. Really, I am open to suggestions and I won't complain... I know I need help! ...and I REALLY appreciate the offer, it is above and beyond. Julien

Rail... I am in NO HURRY. Tomorrow or anytime that is good for you is fine for me. I will be at the Falcons game on Sunday, other than that I will be around. At your leisure... in fact I am not long before bed tonight. Be well. BTW, I sent the email to CS, I think... the last email link on the page. Julien

That's incredibly cool!!! Enjoy your drumkits It is very cool. I just got the Joe Barresi kit 1 for SD3. As it says Rail informed me that what I had bought was a part of something I already had for BFD Eco, they had different names and I did not realize it. It is a GOOD rep who will take the time to point something like this out and offer to give me another product (he let me keep the SD3 kit that I had already bought and installed). Now both are installed and Platinum Samples has a loyal customer. I also wanted to say that, and I am sure Rail wont mind since we are all part of a small community as it were. He told me it would have to wait until he got back to the office because a member of his girlfriends family was killed in an auto accident the night before and he had to go. So condolences to them. I did not pry but I thought I would pass it on. Rail is A-OK, #1 in my book and Rail if you read this I am sure I speak for everyone here that we feel for your girlfriend's family. Tell her that people she does not even know care and send either our prayers or mojo. We care. I hope everyone sees how Rail went beyond the call when he could have done nothing and I would not have known... that shows good character in my opinion. Julien
