Forcing X2 installation in English

Hi,  I would like to install Sonar X2 in English.  I have selected English during the installation process but I always get the French menu.  X1 was previously running in French on the computer and I suspect that the preferences are automatically copied.  Windows 7 is running in French on the computer..  Where can I change the menu language to English ?  Thks

Wow. That's a weird one. If it's not installing after selecting English you may want to contact tech support.

The only thing I can think of is completely uninstall X1 and try again but your French version of Win7 might be causing the confusion. Also that's kind of a pain in the butt considering you probably still want X1 installed. Maybe there is a Windows setting that auto detects french versions of new programs and forces the language install. IDK... maybe check the Windows forums about that as well.

    That's all I got. Salud.

    I did contact tech support.

I wish there is a default menu setting that could be changed to solve this situation.
Just could not find anything in the .ini file or elsewhere at this point.

I'm assuming you are still waiting for a reply. If you don't mind the long distance charge you might want to call them tomorrow during business hours or maybe PM one of the Cakewalk guys here on the forum.

That's weird.  I can say that the main problem is not windows since I installed my X1 and X2 in english on my computer which is running a french Win7.  (salut de la part d'un autre Québécois...)

I've been installing a lot of things lately so I can't remember what Sonar did, but most installation programs ask me, in french, what language I want to run the _install_ in, which is completely separate from the program itself.

Now that I think about it, I bought an english version of X1 in the box.  Then updated with X2 through the Cakewalk store.  I don't remember having a choice of language for X2.

I don't think its weird when the Windows he is using is in French. Sonar has always been tightly integrated with Windows. If the host OS is French it doesn't surprise me that the menus in Sonar would also show up in French.

Except that my windows is also in french.  The only real problem I have with that is the microsoft support website which insists on displaying its pages in french.

My x1 and x2 are in english.  I do most of my stuff in french, but computer and music/audio related stuff is all in english.  I have a feeling you have to specifically buy a particular language version of Sonar.

I bought a french version of windows 7 ultimate. I thought that was strange since one of the few differences between ultimate and professional is the ability to switch languages. When I installed the OS just a month ago on a new system, it didn't even ask me what language I wanted, which it did do on a previous installation of win7 ultimate on another machine a couple of years ago. I _seem_ to recall when I ordered my boxed X1 from a local store that I had to specify that I wanted the english version.
