TH2??
hello and happy christmas to everyone. i'm not a big fan of guitar amp plugins like "guitar rig" but X-2 came with TH2 Producer and i can't seem to get much out of it. when i look at you tube tutorials by Overloud the cat demoing it seems to have a lot more options or (lack of a better word) stuff. when i open TH2 all i get are a few amps, cabs, effects. like i said, this is not an earth shattering problem but i would like to get everything that this plugin is supposed to do. does anyone have any ideas or directions? again,as always, thanks so much

TH2 Producer is a lite version of TH2. If you want the full version that you see in the videos, you need to buy the upgrade, $99 until the end of the year.

Not sure what you are looking for. The Overloud Custom head is really awesome sounding and versatile so I'd play with that first. There aren't a lot of effects included in the Sonar version but the ones that are are pretty solid. There also isn't much in the way of cab stuff but if you learn how to move/switch the mic's around there is some really cool stuff you can do. Seriously you should take a long look at the manual because TH2 is set up kind of weird IMO and many of the more useful features are hidden and really different than how you'd expect them to be. Just open up an instance of it and work your way through the manual (it's not long). Also go to your Cakewalk store account because there was an expansion pack that got sent to us so that should give you some more stuff to play with. I haven't installed it yet myself though. Oh and go through all the presets. It'll help give you a better idea of the diversity of the content and how to use it. Cheers.

Yes and it expires on 12/31. It took me a few minutes to figure out how to install it. There's a link to a YouTube video that cleared up the process since there were no written instructions.

Yes and it expires on 12/31. It does? Oh crap. I've got it dl'd but haven't installed/registered it yet. Maybe that doesn't matter but I'd better do that tonight just in case. :-/

There is nothing to register, just a few presets and IRs to load into TH2 Producer, when you get around to it. As far as expiration date, that refers to how long one has to buy X2 to receive the link, not how long the link is going to be in the account. Just like all the other Content Club stuff.

Yeah, that's what I thought but definitely didn't want to take the chance. Cheers.

The limited editions do not have a great deal to play with, so depending on how much guitar you play you may want to upgrade to a full version of either GR5 (from X1) or TH2 (from X2). I have played guitar for 20+ years now, and prefer the plugin for several reasons myself (I actually like it better than my amps in stand alone mode). I use GR5, and is actually inserted as an FX, so can be applied to any audio signal - turned on/off, and modified drastically without doing anything to the original clean track. With the exception of snaps I can induce at times running GR5 within SONAR, the right amplifiers allow for no cables, pedals, losses, etc. Running stand alone GR5 can do amazing things just as a "guitar amp" (again with the correct speakers). I cannot speak to TH2 adequately, but also felt like there was "not much there" when I first used it. Best regards, Michael

hmm... you should really find that serial number or call Cake to get them to send it to you. GR isn't as good as TH2 IMO (especially the GR Sonar) but it is still usuful to have around. Also sometimes the upgrades to GR5 go on special and that has some cool stuff in it. I like GR5 better for bass than TH2.
