Get Classic Shell ... it's free.
 
I have had a much more stable setup on W8, and it handles memory way better.
 
Install it, add the firewall, then defrag and such if you have stuff in there, and then add classic shell. The other machine I have W7 on, is not as good, and (for example) there is a serious 30/40 frames per second difference when playing World of Warcraft.
 
I would hate to see something similar in the music areas of any machine.
