Online recording
I have read that Cubase now offers the Online Recording option. You and your friend can connect Cubase over the internet and record in real time, also see each other with web cam and talk via mic in real time. That is awesome. I wish Sonar offer such functionality. Will it ever be available for us?

There is online recording like Indabamusic.com web site but I do not remember any DAW to have such functionality. I think it is very useful.

you can do this now if you want, but there's a certain amount of latency. You can use a stream using places like this... http://www.livestream.com/ or http://www.viastreaming.com/shoutcast. You can rent a stream for 40 listeners for $5 a month (more or less). Then, you can use WinAmp to stream up your audio and your listener base can tune in and hear you live. Now, there is latency in this. If you complain about latency from your interface to your computer and back, the latency to a streaming server and out to your listeners is much worse. You can then have your music brought down by another musician who adds to it live. He can hear you, but you can't hear him, because the latency would be too bad. Then, he can stream it up again. In this way, you can play with another musician on the web. But realistically, this method doesn't let you play where you can both hear each other. I'm just posting ideas.
StudioCat > I use Windows 10 and Sonar Platinum. I have a touch screen. I make some videos. This one shows how to do a physical loopback on the RME UCX to get many more equalizer nodes.

There couple of web sites that offer virtual DAW and interface, but I like the idea to have the option in your own DAW, like in Cubase.

yes. I agree it would be cool. They could get latency as low as possible. Do you know the measured latency when you round trip in cubase? Do you send your music to the other musician before he sends his to you? You could end up waiting on each other in an endless hesitation loop.

I do not know how it works. I'd like to try. I have used Indabamusic.com, it was not in real time, meaning- I could not watch track being recorded graphically.
