To X2A or not to X2A
I've been hangin' with X2 and the quick fix and doing ok. Other than some minor glitches which I can work around I'm pretty content. What's the verdict on 2A? I downloaded it but I haven't installed it yet. Thanks. Rocky

Ran the patch here. Seems to work OK, no worse than X2. Like you X2 was working pretty good. I do try to stay current though.

Just tested.. fix the Now Time missing bug related to saving (Ctrl-S) X2 while another window (Console, etc..) is on top. So X2a is only better.

+1 on the update. The PRV graphics in the track pane are much better, I no longer get a crash browsing audio files, and there's a whole bunch of minor niggles fixed.

X2a is definitely a lot better. We finally can control ProChannel modules again from the VS-700C Karl, how's the MCU now as regards ProChannel? Anything improved?

That really is my pet peeve. Fantastic sounding, ergonomic ProChannel that I can't control from a well known popular control surface. Luckily I have an ACT surface that does work well with it but I really wish CW would update the MackieControl.dll. Must be even more frustrating for those relying solely on the MCU.

Yep, sorry mate - I was updating from X1D straight to X2A. I was hoping [some] previous staff view issues might have been addressed, things that had been ongoing. The pane on the right was fixed for selecting tracks [2XA] But alas little else. I use staff view quite a lot for editing, but i have kinda got used to the well documented short comings, and resigned myself to the fact that it looks like that's as far as the SV is going to go. Which is a shame really.

@lowdown - A shame indeed. I was reading in some other threads that X2a was causing SV snap to grid issues which are not present in X2. Hopefully this is either user error, or Cakewalk will iron things out. Even with SV limitations, it would be nice to see 8.5.3 SV icons return, and maybe even have a dedicated SV snap to grid. The other thing which concerns me is that some who had no problems on X1 are now experiencing issues with X2 and vice-versa. I would wait to see thing settle out before I upgrade to X2.
