Loss of transport (stop-start) when floating or docked plugins have focus
This bugged me back in X1, and it is still happening in X2a. If I have a VST GUI open and doing some tweaks on parameters, I often lose the ability to stop/start the project using the spacebar. I am certain it is related to the focused window object not being the main X2 window, but a subwindow under the skylight interface. Indeed, if I alt-tab away from X2 to another app entirely, then alt-tab back to X2, the transport control will return reliably.
NOTE this is NOT due to the plugin GUI having the QWERTY keyboard icon (in the upper right window of the active VST) engaged to pass all keystrokes to the plugin - this problem occurs without that on. Also it does not seem to matter if the plugin window is floating or docked+maximized.
Back in 8.5, I used to have a couple of function keys F6 and F8 mapped to my transport - rewind and play/stop so I could use them when the spacebar was not functional. I can't use those anymore because of the smart tool, but tonight I mapped a couple of numpad keys to Play/Stop and Return to Zereo (RTZ). Still no response from X2 transport - I have to minimize/move the plugin, and click on track view to let the spacebar work again (or click on the transport icon to stop or play).
