    1. I don't play M3Us. 2. I do not listen to short sample tracks that are solely for self-promotion and not mix feedback. 3. 13 posts in 8 years means you are not participating in this forum, but simply using it for your own ends, which I do not respect.

    Hi Foxwolfen,

Sorry if I offended you by posting here. I wasn't trying to advertise my track. I thought the topic said "Songs". This was my first track created in Sonar X2. Just thought the process might be interesting to others... It was to me. You are right, I don't spend a lot of time on this forum, but I am registered and thought I had the right to post and read without a quota.

Again, sorry if you were offended by my post.

It is more the norm here to post a whole track for comment etc.

Like Shad I did not listen to the sample.

You are correct in you comment about posting and quotas it is just more normal to post an entire track for our listening pleasure and possible comment.

Thanks Wookie... I appreciate the info... I do understand the idea of expectations from people who participate on a regular basis and I will take that into account the next time I post. It was just a moment of spontaneity and that was a link I had available in the moment.  By the way... the sample is at least 80% of a 5:12 min song. Grab a listen, I promise it won't hurt...

Thanks again for giving me the scoop...

I don't keep track of who posted what and when Dennis, so I'm listening, and enjoying it very much. Not my genre, but it oozes class.

I love this style of music.  I played in my high school jazz band, so this is right up my alley.  I would have liked to have heard the ending because a song can turn on how it finishes.  Nevertheless, this is very professional all the way.  Welcome to the forum, FYI, as good as this production is, I'll bet there are many here who would benefit from your ears and experience and words of wisdom.

    All the best,
    Lynn

Pretty great recording, actually. I'd be curious how you got that thumpin' bass drum? Tame and yet...not. I'll say this: you have a lot of talent.

Hi Dan, Thanks for listening... The Bass and Drum thing happened first by getting the best Bass performance I could muster out of myself (since I'm not primarily a Bass player):-) Next I tried to eq out as much bass overtones as I could without loosing any of the natural timber. Lastly, I eq'd a decent balance of Bass and Kick around 80-100hz. That seemed to do the trick... Thanks again for taking the time to give a listen... Dennis PS... I extended the link to play the full track.
