New David Attenborough 6-part series - Wow!!
Watched the first episode of Africa tonight, absolutely stunning. Worth the licence fee on its own.

mike_mccue Can't wait to see it. :-) Mike, apart from Attenborough's usual wonderful narrative, the photography is simply stunning. They're even using a 'starlight' movie camera to capture some of the footage. Here's a still showing the sort of images it can captures in the middle of the night: There are some more stills HERE if you want to check them out, and the trailer for the series is on Youtube HERE.

Gosh, that would have been a nice pic if your dog didn't get into the scene there Steve.

It's a beautiful looking show that's for sure. I'm pretty certain no-one has ever seen 2 giraffes fighting before, that was an incredible sequence.

I will watch for it. I like such shows as ong as they are not too heavy on controversy. If they stick with nature and what is happening now and the filming is stellar (as I assume this is)... there isn't much better.... Thanks for the heads up, I had not heard about this. I will look it up now. edit> NICE going, your OP here is the second listing on Google. I copy/pasted your thread title sans the "wow". You are on page three of the Google search if I remove "6-part". Cool! J

I saw a Rhino make a couple of hundred people scatter very quickly at the San Diego Zoo. I didn't know they could spin their tail like that....talk about the sh$t hitting the fan!

Here you go Daryl......thinking of you mate. A male gelada, unique to the Ethiopian highlands and also known as a bleeding heart baboon.
