Welcome to the forum.
First you need to rip the CD to your computer's hard drive. When you insert the CD in the computer, you should get a message asking you what do you want to do with the CD. "Rip to Hard Drive" is usually an option.
Once the songs are on the computer, open a Music Creator 6 New project, give it a name, select an Audio Template.
Now click on an audio track to select it.
Click File>Import Audio and navigate to the location of the song on your hard drive. Double-click the song you want to import and it will then load into the track you selected.
Select another audio track for each song you want to use in your skating medley and import the song(s).
Once all the songs are in the project, you can click on each one and drag them to different places in the tracks.
Now you use the Split tool to cut apart each track so you're left with just the short clips you want to be playing. You may have a tool in MC 6 above the track pane that looks like a little pair of scissors. Click that to select it. You can also right-click on a track and select 'Split' from the pop-up menu. When you hover the cursor above one of the clips, it will appear to as scissors. Click/split the tracks where you want to fade from one song to the next. You'll have to split both before and after the part you want to use. Right-click the remaining clips and select Edit>Delete to get rid of the parts you don't want.
Once you've done all that for each track, you should end up with a bunch of short clips.
If you want to fade out one clip and fade in the next clip, hover the cursor over each end of the clip at the top corner until the cursor becomes a triangle. Grab the triangle and drag it right or left to produce a fade envelope.
It sounds a lot harder than it is, but I'm sure you can easily do it. Maybe try it out on a track to get the hang of it.
Good luck!
