I moved my Dimension Pro Multisamples to another drive and now DP can't find them.
How do I reconnect DP to the multisamples in their new location?
Hi Dave,
On Windows, the Dimension family of synthesizers looks at a main product key to pull in configuration information about itself. Configuration options may tell it where to locate audio files, resource files, Sinc settings, etc. Each edition has these keys in different places:
For 32-bit versions of the instrument on 32-bit Windows they should be in:
Dimension (Project5)
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Cakewalk Music Software\Dimension Dimension LE (1.0 - 1.2)
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Cakewalk Music Software\Dimension LE Dimension LE (1.5)
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Cakewalk Music Software\dple Dimension Pro (1.0 - 1.2)
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Cakewalk Music Software\Dimension Pro Dimension Pro (1.5)
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Cakewalk Music Software\dp For 32-bit versions of the instrument on 64-bit versions of Windows they should be in a slightly altered location:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Wow6432\Cakewalk Music Software\ ...
For 64-bit versions of the instrument on 64-bit versions of Windows they should be in the expected location:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Cakewalk Music Software\ ...
You may use the Windows Registry Editor (regedit.exe) to locate and manipulate these keys if necessary.
As for tweakDimension, I wrote that program a long time ago specifically for the original Dimension that was only available with Project5. It was updated when Dimension Pro 1.0 was released, but never udpated for any other versions (DimPro LE, DimPro 1.2, DimPro 1.5) nor for 64bit versions of the instrument running on 64bit versions of Windows. It is still available at the Project5 User site, but it may not work for you if you're running 64-bit versions of the instruments or versions later than 1.0. You will most likely need to edit the registry directly.
