Loading Sounds into Session Drummer

I have to copy parts into a new Cakewalk project.  Session Drummer is presenting problems.  I loaded particular sounds into the original Session Drummer kit, but can't find them to load into the new version of the project.

For example, I loaded a kick into the original kit.  Session Drummer shows its name as something like kickeq102.  It does not tell me which kit or folder this came from so I can't find it to load into the new project.

Same problem for some woodblocks I loaded into the pads.

Is there no way to see the path for these sounds?  This is really stupid.

Thanks.

Konrad

If you have the sfz files the sample paths will be in there, although I suspect if you can find those then you'd already know where the samples are as they are usually but not necessarily in the same folder.

Thanks, but not sure what you mean.  When I click on the existing drum, it shows a file name, but not the path and the file name does not give a clue where it is.

Ah got ya' (I think). Does the file name you see have a sfz extension?

AFAIK there's no way of directly seeing paths from within Session Drummer. The sample information and path etc. is stored in the sfz file.

If you want to find that search that name on your system, but if it's just using an existing kit in a new project you can "Save Kit as..." from the drum selector at the bottom left of the kit window. Once saved you can reload that into the new project.

I don't believe he used an SFZ file - he just loaded a WAV file into a slot

Your best bet may be to try opening the session file in HexEdit to see if you can see an ASCII path for the samples

Sorry if this is a stupid suggestion but have you done a search for "kickeq102" on your C drive (or whatever drive you're using)?
