Advantage Windows 8 Pro

Sonar X2a and Windows 8 seem so very complimentary to one another. This is without a touch screen.

One big change is the ctrl + scroll wheel in Windows 8 works in the help and in folders. What I mean is you can change the size of the text by using the ctrl key with the scroll wheel.

It appears to be universal in its application. I believe it is due to Windows 8 being touch able. 

On a touch screen using your thumb and index finger to pinch or un-pinch to resize a window works without a touch screen as stated above with Windows 8.

This is a small thing with big application to us that often need bigger text. 

There are a lot of neat things in Windows 8 but for me this one is so darn useful. 

I don't know all the new abilities in Windows 8 but its a lot of fun running across them.  

Now in my view CW needs to think about making the CV re-sizable. This will have a real impact on X2 becoming a great Windows 8 program. Its almost there but scaling should be implemented immediately.

Windows 8 supports it now its up to CW. 

 

i for one regret moving to windows 8. my vrm box still does not work (they have not released a driver). my intuis pen works 95% right instead of 100% under win 7. i have a high end machine and i did not see performance increases that were hyped. if they are there, they aren't enough to make a visual difference. win 8 also has some annoying functionality for mouse users. if i could go back to win 7 without hassle i would, at least for a couple of years.

Do you have Win 8 drivers for all your devices?  I just added a new printer that has no Win 8 drivers yet (they are coming some time this month) and it works beautifully. Its a color laser printer with duplex printing. I love it.

When i built my machine it was a bit high end but now I could use a motherboard and CPU upgrade. Yet Win 8 has performed great on this machine.  Stable as a rock and X2a runs as if it were on rails. No crashes at all. 

I do also recommend a clean install of Win 8. I think this can alleviate some problems that could occur.

The bottom line is if you have Win 7 and have no compelling reason to upgrade, don't.
