Don't watch the videos. They are by Dan Worrall and that means you end up buying it. I know someone who was looking to buy a wheelbarrow and accidently clicked on an Alchemy video and bought the lot from Camel Audio. True story. PS: Lots bought this when it was on sale a year or two ago and it comes up regular for sale on KVR and usually you get a pack or two thrown in. Keep your eyes peeled.

Alchemy is great. It's not in your face - somehow. It's great for the 'pad' sections for us non-synth guys. Makes a change from using the obligatory strings. Some great soundsets too!

I've got the free Alchemy, and I am somewhat Impressed with it. It's on my radar, now. And I've also taken note of Zebra 2, for consideration. I'll be watching for an Alchemy sale.

Its a beast. And its price has held up really well, because its a favorite of power-users and hollywood sound designers. Its a big time synth.... Infinite, omg, is it infinite... I've passed on it, due to its sheer complexity.

Just to be clear, "I totally understand how to use the synth." I know my LFOs, and OSCs, and ADSRs, and AHDSRs, and EG, and Mod Matrixs, etc, etc, etc... What I was saying, "for my music," what I need out of a synth is a butter knife... Alchemy is a is more like, "a chainsaw."

Alchemy is a Swiss army knife that can turn into a chainsaw or a butter knife, depending how you want to use it and what you need to us it for. The interface is so incredibly simple, and the conceptualization and execution as simple or complex as you might want. Yes, there are lots of sound options, but that doesn't seem to bother most people- nevertheless it may give others a migraine, perhaps.
