No BSOD just a complete freeze up...

OK so I always pride myself on my computer never crashing while my friends who work in Logic are plagued with constant reboots.

Not really so, maybe 3 or 4 times a year my system completely locks up, just instantly freezes, accompanied by a terrible terrible noise.  Only solution is a hard reboot.  Here's an approximation of the noise, it's the exact same every time, maybe a little higher pitched but it's close (this is a dubstep bass patch):

Anyway I guess I've never really been that concerned because in the past I think almost every time it happened I had been using Windows Media Player.  So I figure it's a lame program and it's Media Player's fault so I just don't use it.  But yesterday the same thing happened in SONAR so now I'm concerned.

Any thoughts on what causes this sort of thing?  Some sort of conflict I should be looking for?  Any ideas appreciated...

Only thing I don't like the looks of is your still using 8.3. You should have upgraded to 8.5. I don't think you can anymore.
I ( most people) never liked Vista.
3 interfaces? I guess not with ASIO.
Your RAM 64GB must be a typo.

I'm sure I should have upgraded or maybe still should but I'm a big believer in if it ain't broke don't fix it.  I've been really happy with 8.3... and it's been really stable... though maybe I have to reconsider that now.

64GB isn't a typo... at the time I had this computer custom built (by visiondaw.com) I had them install absolute max everything, whether or not I could use it I figured at some point I would upgrade and then I'd be able to use it.  I hate changing computers so much I wanted a computer that would last forever without having to make modifications.  I actually tried to talk them into installing 128GB for me but they talked me off the ledge.

I am using ASIO with the 3 MOTU 2408s... is that a problem?
