What Did I Mess Up (Preferences)

I went into Preferences >>>File>> Folder Locations and moved some stuff as my C drive was filling up too fast
My Project files are in the E drive and always have been.
From C I moved Templates, Track templates, track icons, cal files & wave files to D

Well now when I click on utilities to start a recording session and then click on vs 700 I get a Warning message which says...

Warning: Unable to open MIDI ports to the VS-700R. Make sure that the
VS-700R is connected and its MIDI ports are not in use by any other
application

When I click OK  the VS-700-1 interface shows up but MIC PRE  &  DIRECT MIX are greyed out and I can't access them.

Any idea what I may have done? I called cakewalk they told me to call Roland.
Roland put me on to a product specialist who didn't know jack.

That message will come up if you enable "IO (VS-700)" in your MIDI Device settings in the Preferences menu. Take a look to see if it's selected. If so, deselect and then completely close and re-launch SONAR.

That particular port is meant strictly for firmware updates to the unit. When it's enabled in SONAR, the VS-700 Control Surface Plug-in has difficulty communicating with the hardware.

Let us know if that helps!
