Specific Audio Unable to Save to Project in X2

Howdy, didn't see anything specificly about in this in the search but sorry if its been addressed before. I recorded a MIDI drum track (through Studio Instruments if it matters) in a project and then copied it into another project as an audio file. It plays perfectly fine and acts as normal but after saving multiple times, closing X2, and reopening X2 it will lose that file. All track parameters, effects bin, etc. all stays as was saved but the file itself is lost and shows up as a silent track. Tried re-copying the file and adding as new audio track but still does not save. Other MIDI tracks on this project that turned into audio files are fine, just this particular file. Can list computer specs if necessary or any other info if yall request. Thanks in advance.

Do you have Sonar set (in preferences - file - audio data)  to "Use Per Project Audio folders" ?
. . . by using this setting, all audio in a project gets saved or copied into a sub-folder of the project folder - - - > "audio"

If you cut and paste audio between projects, you may have to do a "save as" to copy the audio to the new project sub-folder.

If you play MIDI data through a VSTi then there is no audio file created. You need to bounce the MIDI or at the very least freeze the MIDI track before there is any audio file.

Sorry, should've said that. Yes, the MIDI track was frozen first to create an audio file.

Yes, the "Use per project audio folders box" is checked. I did not do a 'save as', that could be what's going on.

I ended up re-sequencing the drum track in the project itself and that saved without issue. Still would like to figure this out for future reference. I'll try and recreate the problem again and do some poking around. Thanks yall for the help.

Not sure if freezing the actual Midi track will work.

Try freezing the synth so that an audio waveform is generated in the SI Audio track

Getting the same problem again, this time with multiple recorded audio tracks, no MIDI. All record fine, all play as normal, added effects and such. Saved as normal and closed X2, now those audio tracks are lost and show up as silent tracks. Getting fairly annoying now having to re-record everything.....this is the first project I've ever had such a problem with.

*EDIT* When I pull up my project library outside of X2, all the missing files are there with all the regularly recognized files in the projects Audio file, just for some reason X2 doesn't recognize the new files.
