A favour to ask...

Hi guys, I've been trying to get a valid Dimension Pro 1.5 installer for a couple of months now, but every link customer service sends me results in a corrupt file being downloaded. Here is the error message I get:

CRC failed in install Data\15 - Strings.7z.013
Unexpected end of archive

If it's something I'm doing wrong, please let me know, but it just seems to be a bad file/download.

So I'm wondering if anyone would be willing to send me their installer, as the sales guys just keep sending me the same bad link?! Not sure if it's legal or anything, but as many will know, I'm certainly a valid paying customer and have the serial numbers etc. to activate it, so if anyone would like to help out, please send the Dimension Pro 1.5 installer via YouSendIt, Dropbox or whatever. My email address is contact@grizzlystudios.com.au

Thanks!

I'll have three fingers of Glenlivet, with a little bit of pepper... and some cheese.

If you are a valid paying customer then there should be a link to the download in your cakewalk store account. Log in to your store account and download from that link.

When others report problems downloading from their store account, a common remedy is to use a different browser or download manager. That seems to do the trick.

You don't need them to send you a link. Log on to your store.cakewalk.com account and download it from there. Use the Google Chrome browser.

James, I am having a similar problem.   My account page showing my registered products has Dim Pro and Dim Pro 1.5 but NEITHER of them have a download link next to them.     CS was helpful and sent me a link to DL the full version but IT DIDNT WORK.    I replied to CS but I haven't heard back from them yet :(

I too need a full install of Dim Pro that works with X1.
I have bought ever version of Sonar since Pro Audio 8!!!!!!!!!   (pre Sonar for those too young to remember)

I will follow this thread to see if you get anywhere- good luck.

The DimPro link is not by the registration info, it is located on the page linked to the X1 (or X2) download. The SONAR X1/X2 download links open to a page of several file links not just a single file. BTW, if you have any version of DimPro Pro available, you can patch it to v1.5 from the DimPro support page http://www.cakewalk.com/S...uct.aspx/Dimension-Pro

yes, i remember now.  i installed that file and X1 doesn't recognize it because I have to install the version off my Sonar 8 disc FIRST (which of course I can't find).

The CS guy wasn't surprised about my issue.   Isn't anyone else having this issue?

I cannot speak for everybody but no, I did not experience that. About 6 months ago, I did an X1 Producer install on a machine with no prior version of SONAR on it. The DimPro installed fine.

I seem to remember someone having a problem with the download and it ended being because they were doing it over a wireless network.

If you have your place set up for wireless, try bypassing the wireless router and connecting directly.

Haha thank you so much scook, that's it! I wonder why the sales dudes didn't tell me that? I'm very happy, thanks again :-)

OK, I'll try again. Do I have to install both of the Dimension Pro installers from the Sonar X1 download page? One and then 1.5? I know I've been thru this before but, It's worth a try. Thanks everyone.

I'm pretty sure you just install 1.5. They tell if you are a registered customer by the products you have registered on their database (your store account). Not what you have installed on your computer. Remember to close all other applications and use Run As Administrator to launch the installer.

    i) Check that the file size matches what you expect - I missed this, hadn't got the whole file and  spent ages trying to run the installer!

ii) Make sure you have a lot of disk space on the drive where your Temp folder is - the installer unpacks to that and comes back with an unhelpful message if there isn't enough space.
