Driver install problem for VS700C + VS700R
Hello all, We got a brand new VS700 set (console + I/O rack). We have a new computer with Windows 7 64 bits + Service pack 1. VS700 console firmware is 1.01. I downloaded the Win 7 (64 bits) driver 2.0.1 from Cakewalk/Roland website. The driver installation seems to run fine until it askes me for connecting the USB cable from VS700C to the computer. So, I plug the cable and the USB led on the console lits. Then, nothing happens. I can only see VS-700C in the peripherals window on the computer. The VS700 driver window does not change. So in the end, I do not know what to do. The computer has USB 2 and USB 3 ports, and I tried them all. Is there anyone here that can suggest what to do ? Many thanks in advance. Best regards,

thank you for the link. I downloaded driver v1 and installed it (after clean uninstall of the v2 driver and reboot of the computer) Installation of the driver is still locked on the screen asking for pluging the VS700 to the computer. When I plug USB, the led lits on the VS console and in the peripherals list of the computer, I can see VS700C with an exclamation tag. I go deeper into the VS700C details on Windows 7, it says that there's a device called UM-1 which has no driver. I do not understand... I put a screen copy below. I hope someone can help because I am locked - this is a brand new computer (i7 3770 3.4ghz with 16 GB DDR3 - 2 SDD 250 GB - Nvidia 560) - nothing installed yet on this computer, so even not the VS drivers....

ok. i feel a bit stupid... we noticed that usb was not pluged into the right place on the VS set.... Now it's connected from VS700R (I/O) to computer, drivers fully installed. Software also. Regards,

Glad to see that there are still people going for the VS-700 these days. It's a shame it doesn't come with the latest firmware installed. Anyway, welcome guys! There're usually a lot of helpful hands around in this forum, although it's gone quiet recently ... Some may have finally left, but I think the rest is busy working with X2a, now that the biggest showstoppers have been fixed
