This song has a lot going for it.  The mix, arrangement, and performances are terrific.  If you have more songs like that, let's hear them.

Love this Philip. Great song and I love the arrangement. My only slight criticism is, to my ears, the guitar that plays the heavy arpeggio in the chorus is slightly too loud.
    Really good though

Thanks for feedback Daryl! You are definitely on to something because I did mix them a little louder than normal. I actually got some new monitors that I mixed this song with so it was a little bit different for me going in. Glad you enjoyed it!

The music promises more than is delivered because, to my ears, the vocals are too buried.  You have a high octave guitar part repeating near the center of the mix that is competing with the already too low vocals.  I know that there's a mixing style in indie rock that likes to 'muffle' the vocals so to speak, but I think if you just got them out there a bit in the mix, the song would shine more.  Just my opinion :)

ABull, you might be right. I know some of my earlier mixes I tended to have the vocals too low. However, I think subtleties can distinguished one producer from the next and I was certainly in the mind set of trying to be original. Not original in the sense of mixing vocals low, but bringing the mix together to create a new sound-scape for this particular tune. Anyhow, I'll definitely keep my ear to the vocals next mix! Thanks for the input.

Nice I like it but the guitar is a bit too upfront and loud in the mix , overall it sounds great !

Well I used to say there was no such thing as a guitar that is too loud.... of course that was in jest.

I agree the guitars are a bit too much in the spotlight. Between being a guitarist, having new speakers and really nice tone on the guitars..... I can understand how they could end up too loud.

So.... let it set a day and have another go at the mix balance.

I agree too with Allan's comment that the vox need to be a bit more up front.... I think if the guitars are more in balance the vox will probably be easier to hear....

    nice song.

excellent song. excellent vox and playing. The guitar is WAY too up front, totally drowning it out. Bring it back a db and eq it. On my laptop the C note on the guitar is resonanting and covering everythingup. Maybe check the frequency of that on a chart.

Yes a really good song and I agree with Allan and Guitarhacker. Up with the voice and down with the guitars. Your Vox is perfect for this kind of songs.

Thanks for all the feedback, its appears the guitars were a little overwhelming hehe. Well, I uploaded a new mix to the same link check it out and see what you think! There is a little bit of sibilance in the vocals that I will look into in the future... but for now I want to track more!

I think the vocals need to be brought out more, the background music is crushing them. Good job on the song though.

Really nice vocal performance. Vocals sit nicely now. Very tasty harmonies. Thinking I'd like to hear more of those. There's kinda of a high freq "fizz" from the rhythm guitar that could be eq'd out to clean it up just a bit, but that's a minor nit. Nice work on this Philip.
