**Solved: Needs "a" patch** Crop Overlapping Tool: Is it working for you guys?

Trying to perform the following function in X2 (build 308):

From pg 373 of the X2 PDF...

To crop overlapping clips to eliminate overlap
1. In a multi-lane track, move either the Smart tool or the Edit tool between two
overlapping clips until the cursor turns into the overlap cropping tool.
A. Overlap cropping tool
2. In the space between the clips, click the spot where you want the first clip to end and the second
one to begin. SONAR crops both clips so that they no longer overlap.


My cursor won't even change to the right mode using either the Smart Tool or Edit Tool and caused a complete crash after trying for a while. This would be a very useful function for me. 


OT but I had another crash earlier when undoing a multi clip copy + link clips + paste + undo paste.

    This is for use with Take Lanes and doesn't work between 2 individual Tracks.

    It works as described for me in X2a. I highly recommend the upgrade if it's not working in X2 for you.

    It is mentioned in http://www.cakewalk.com/s...reader.aspx/2007013301 as one of the bugs fixed in X2a

    Crop Overlapping clip tool is not available (CWBRN-10895, CWBRN-11965, CWBRN-12058)

    @scook... Oops. Right you are. I should have checked the fix list before posting. I usually do but this is the first time a bug I've experienced was actually on it. Sorry.

    @Steve... Yup. That's what I was trying. It failed spectacularly.

    Still not updating though. I can wait for the next patch on this issue as well. Most of the stuff I've found that doesn't work is usually just fancy stuff that I'd LIKE to use but aren't showstoppers for me. Some of the bugs currently being reported sound like they would be. Hope the next patch comes out soon... the fixes/workarounds seem like far too much effort.

    Anyway, thanks and sorry for the derp thread. ;-)
