They knew what they were doing with this free Groove 3 pass business

Groove 3 is really excellent and I'm enjoying the Sonar videos. Tons of "aha" moments in every one.

But let's face it, this free month is just to get us in there and drool at how many of our favorite synths and plugs are covered. I mean just looking through all of the categories it's clear there are months and months worth of videos that I really must view.....FM8 explained....Absynth explained....Kontakt explained.....it just goes on and on. And it just occurred to me that I'd be much better off spending $35/month learning the stuff that I already have in-depth, rather than buying even more stuff that I'm probably never going to learn properly.

So yeah, great marketing move!

If you haven't been paying attention to Groove3, you will have missed the all-access pass sale in Nov. ... $99 for a full year.  They extended the sale through Dec.  Who knows when they'll next offer that price, but if your on the fence and show some patience, that offer may very well come around again.  Best deal of the last 12 months IMO.

Yep G3 is awesome IMO. I got the all access pass a couple months ago and I been doing about one tutorial a week. Even stuff like 'Producing Hip Hop' (not sure of the name) was eye opening and I really didn't think it would have much for me.

Depending on how much content they add this year I may or may not reorder next year but that isn't a reflection of the quality of the content. Really great stuff.

    Regards,

Indeed it is great. Luckily i have managed to squeeze in most of the tutorials i need within a couple of weeks.  Sure, many can take hours up at once, but worth it. I have probably watched 10-15.

Also worth mentioning that the volume of additions per month does not appear to be huge, so maybe a couple of vids per month for what gear you have.  That kind of puts me off a long term membership.

Agreed on the quality.  Very good. It does make you wonder why companies dont provide this stuff free of charge, like a video manual. Id rather pay an additional 30 quid for a daw with 10-15 hrs of in depth tutorials on a dvd, or as part of the product, than a traditional manual.

I already got the Sonar videos from the cakewalk store. So I can concentrate my attention in other areas. I still don't think 30 days is long enough. The Ozone 5 course was just awesome. Man that plug-in rocks. I started looking at the alloy videos.

Now today I get an email from Izotope offering alloy for only 99.00 because I am an Ozone 5 user. I wish I had 99.00. I stopped watching the alloy videos So I would not be tempted. This is some sort of cruel and unusual punishment.

Compression explained was good so was mix 101. EQ explained was good too. I am cramming as many courses as I can in the 30 day time frame.

Sigh....we have dreams of becoming rich with this music business....but the very act of making the music makes us wish we were richer so we could afford all of those awesome musical tools. I spent way more than I could afford last year and am determined to go easy on the purchases this year, otherwise I will end up in the gutter! This is why I'm liking this Groove 3 stuff....it's made me realize that there is so much more to squeeze out of the stuff I already have as long as I knuckle down and study it.
