Never been a big fan, he's one of those artists where I understand his influence and creativity, but the songs never really clicked with me. I quite like his new single though.

Oh I'm a big fan...I just don't go around shouting about it. Am quite looking forward to the new LP. Hope it rocks (and I've heard it does) more than that weepy...but creepily engaging...new single.

As I've mentioned elsewhere here, I think he's one of the all time greatest. Not only the music, but he's such brilliant live performer. His stage presence is so total. He never just does gigs, he is a true entertainer.

I am a huge fan of Bowie. For the longest time, I could understand what it was all about but it never clicked w/ me, except for a couple of obvious songs. Then out, of nowhere a few years ago, it's like all the pieces of the puzzle fell into their place. Incredible artist.

Yes - I agree and feel the same way. Many of Bowie's contemporary's (age-wise) just haven't been able to maintain any relevance in their later years. I love the Stones for example, but - I haven't bought an album since I was a kid. Bowie has been doing his thing for 45 years!!! Maybe not to everyone's taste but he doesn't try to be Justin Bieber either. I was a big Zep/Sabbath fan as a kid - but I don't think I could stand to watch Ozzy on stage anymore. But I could go see Bowie - not that he does any concerts anymore.

In fact, it always surprised me to see the contrast between Ozzy on stage and Ozzy offstage. Similarly, I learned english listening to Ozzy's records, but deciphering what he says off stage is off limits.
