    Hi sharke,

As a matter of perspective, there have been many valuable members at the forum that have chosen to leave and no longer share info with us because the place is no longer self governed as family friendly.

I ask you to ask your self; "Do I want to be part of the cause of that?"

Is this original post, or more particularly, the title of this thread, contributing anything helpful to our diverse little community of musical oddballs?

What is the cost of entertaining posts such as this?

I miss many of the nice people who will not put up with this sort of demonstration of callousness.

Please consider these ideas and determine if a post like this is really something you wish to be introducing to the community.

I hope you make a decision that benefits the entire community.

    all the very best,
    mike

The ladies that no longer frequent this forum may be too exasperated to try to explain it to you.

Most of the gentlemen seemed to make similar choices and simply drifted away after asking for people to exercise some basic manners without results.

    :-S

It shouldn't have anything to do with what any of us think is funny.

I'm not surprised, yet I am mildly disappointed that I am the only one trying to politely point this out.

    best regards,
    mike

I'll never understand why people need to use the language they use ALL THE TIME, I don't think it added anything to the point being made (quite the opposite), but the message in that video was spot on and Chuck's expression was priceless!

I will throw in my support, Mike.  I don't like it either and agree that the reason some people don't come here anymore is because of stuff like that.  I KNOW that for a fact.

I've been very vocal about stuff like that in the past and sometimes I get beat down because I'm being too "pious"

so sometimes I revell in allowing someone else to make the comment and I don't have to take the beating.

The OP made the post containing a warning that it may be offensive to some and even specified why. If you choose to watch after reading that you can't really then say that the content offended you. It's like some people want to be offended just so that they can act superior in some way.

Seems to me that sometimes those who like to play the role of "peacemaker" are often the ones who cause most of the arguments.

Im not sure what all the hub bub's about...I do understand that Bill Burr can be about as vulgar as a comedian can get...and that's going some...and (at least here) mysoginistic as well.  And I can easily see how that could offend someone (male or female).  But no one's holding a gun to your head to click the link either.  And as to the original title I know of many decent, educated, engaging women who use "that word" in a self-referential, anatomical manner.  No foolin.  YMMV.

Maybe there should've been a clearer (cleaner) description of the link to begin with.

Actually the OP made a post with a thread title that could not be avoided and that is what I made comment on

Your explanation that there was some choice in encountering the material is off the mark.

Furthermore your estimation that I might want to act superior seems like a very selective criticism as you recently stated that you found humor in a diatribe by a narrator whom clearly demonstrates how superior he feels to both Mrs. Lennon and her husband John.

That commentary was meant as entertainment and it was made for profit by a person that didn't bother to come up with his own material... and you think it is funny.

My comment is meant to help encourage people here in this community to be more aware of each other's sensibilities... and you don't like encountering it... so you fabricate a criticism of it based upon suppositions.

It seems as if you want to be offended just so that you can act superior in some way.

See what I just did there?

Just so it is clear; I feel like I just want to be another one of the folks hanging out here.

I spoke my mind. Sharke offered a reply stating his thoughts.

    There hasn't been an argument.

    regards,
    mike

Are you posting from a phone? If I post from my iPhone it seems to add extra white space between paragraphs.

Another +1 for both Mike's and Beagle's comments.

There are a number of links I simply won't click, and this will be one of them.  I also miss the people who decided to leave over the issue.

While I still check the Coffee House regularly, there simply are many threads that I just don't care to comment on, and while I've never been a prolific poster, I do find myself often posting less these days.
