Toontrack SDX Install Issue = Solved
I just recieved Toontracks New York Studios Vol 3 Kit. It has 3 DVDs for installation. After inserting DVD 1 the install begins and ejects that DVD. When I insert DVD 2 it spins up and does nothing. I'm not sure what to do. Can I just copy the files to the SOUNDS folder or will that lead to a bad install? I porbably should cancel the installation and try again but if I do that should I run the UNINSTALL before I try a re-install? Is there anyway through Windows to "force" DVD 2 to "take off" although it seems to have spun up okay? DVD 2 "looks" good. I see no defects looking at the DVD. Anyone else ever have this issue? Thanks for any tips. Dave-

Did you run the install as "Administrator"? That's helps sometimes, as the system won't continue otherwise. Just a thought... Right click the installer on the DVD and select "Run as Administrator"

Damn! I just moved the "Install Progress" box on the screen and under that was one of Toontracks famous Easter Eggs. It was another box that said, "Install DVD 2 and Click OK". It's been awhile since I install any Toontrack products I's forgotten their little poor programing tricks.

Man, if I had a dollar for every time that one has bitten me... Glad you got it sorted and hope you get the serial number soon. I'm very interested in this SDX, so I'd love to hear your thoughts on it once you get 'er up-n-runnin'.

It gets better. I clicked "Contact Toontrack Support" since I didn't want to start a thread in their forum about the missing serial number. Toontrack support will not accept a question/issue WITHOUT a serial number. So I started a thread and was told to contact Audio Deluxe for the serial number. It's a holiday weekend. Maybe I'll hear from them Tuesday. Gee, since it's the WEEKEND I wanted to play around with the software since I have the time. Whatta PITA.

Hi Dave, I did that and they directed me to contact Audio Deluxe to get the serail number. I should start a thread about that "hidden" click okay message. I know I'm not the only one who has been bitten by that one. Audio Deluxe replied (on a Sunday!). I'm impressed and all is well. Best, Dave-
