Weird of course you have made an error report to Cakewalk? Just so you do not feel alone I too have experienced a number of unexplained Blue screen crashes after having SONAR running but idle for awhile. Some kind of stop exception which indicates that I have a driver fault however all drivers are up to date. Have not noticed it with any other software i.e Soundforge 9 (Known not to be overly friendly with win 7 64bit) or CD Architect 5.2d or if the PC is just sitting there doing nothing. Lets us know if you get a solution. By the way my PC is an Intel quad core with hyper-threading a 2600K

well my sound card is of corse to blame from cake support .but it dont ever frezze or crash with anyother software. iv never even seens hicup from anything i run on my new system. but sonar drops out every min fact is some guys here spent time to get the best hardware that is compatable with sonar, i have no clue why sonar would be the only thing on my system and i have tons of stuff on there. you think they test it with alot of 3rd party software or is it just not there problem>>

☄ Helpful
If it's only crashing when idle, then it sounds like it's going to sleep on you. IOW, your power options are set to "sleep" after a period of inactivity (this is by default), and for some reason this is causing a crash. Go into control panel-Power options, and change your profile to High Performance. This basically will disable the sleep/hibernate settings. Another possibility is some task that normally runs when your system is idle (defragging, virus scanning, etc) is taking off and causing the crash. If the power setting change doesn't work, post back. Also, it would help if you listed your basic system specs.

its just compleatly shuts down before my eyes' What shuts down: Sonar or the computer? If its the computer, you may have a thermal problem. Check the temperatures in the BIOS when you reboot and make sure none of them are going higher than 80 degrees Celsius. Look at the heat sync on the CPU and make sure its not full of dust. Check the fans to make sure they are not clogged.

It's a registry key you have to edit. It's been discussed on this forum more than once, so you shouldn't have any trouble googling it.
