Driver Errors and Dropouts

Hello,
 
I just bought X2 Pro and received it on Thursday. I’ve tried everything I can think of and followed all the directions for driver settings listed both in the Sonar and my interface’s (Roland Quad Capture) manual. In fact, I just uninstalled and reinstalled the Quad Capture’s drivers last night, but upon restarting this morning I’m still receiving the following error message:
 
“The following devices either do not support the current audio format or are in use by another application. Please choose whether you want to disable them or use them anyway.”
 
Of course, the interface is a Roland product that was designed specifically to work with Sonar; so, I can’t imagine it’s an incompatibility issue. The sample rates are set correctly as far as I can tell, both in the device settings of the interface and the device settings of the DAW. I do have Sonar LE and Reaper on my computer, but neither of them are open. Also, I’ve gone into LE to make sure the Quad Capture was unchecked in the device settings. So, I can’ imagine what other applications would be in use.
 
Any thoughts or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

    Do you have it set to share the drivers with other programs? There is an option in the settings. It may be that you have a browser or something else open at the same time that uses audio, or even something that in your startup folder that requires audio.

    It could even just be your normal music player.

    I’m not sure, but that could be the case. I followed the Quad Capture’s recommended setting verbatim.  This was in the troubleshooting section of the manual, and it mostly concerned power and performance options. Still, I’ll go back and check. Maybe one of those settings created problems.

    Make sure your on-board sound chip is disabled.
    Also, list your driver settings that where set up by you in Sonar. Here in lies the problem.
    followed the Quad Capture’s recommended setting verbatim.

    That's wasted time you'll never get back. Setting up a sound card in Sonar is failry simple. Dso if you list your settigns, we can see the problem

    As posted by others, there are some things specific to that particular device that do have to be followed from the doc on the site or the manual.  For most other interfaces, I agree with you that they are pretty simple to set up.  This one just has some things requiring following their required steps.
