Make sure your on-board sound chip is disabled.
Also, list your driver settings that where set up by you in Sonar. Here in lies the problem.
followed the Quad Capture’s recommended setting verbatim.
That's wasted time you'll never get back. Setting up a sound card in Sonar is failry simple. Dso if you list your settigns, we can see the problem

As posted by others, there are some things specific to that particular device that do have to be followed from the doc on the site or the manual. For most other interfaces, I agree with you that they are pretty simple to set up. This one just has some things requiring following their required steps.
