I cannot seem to change my avatar... well, I cannot change it...
I have tried over several days and I get some error, then a 500 error. Something about not being able to find the url, but I am trying to upload from my computer. I don't understand why I can't change it. Are you able to change yours? When I try to select a picture in the select box I get something like: c:\fakepath\picturename.jpg I hit upload and I get a box that says" radupload ajax callback error. Source url was not found. Telerik.RadUploadProgressHandler.ashx?RadUrid=d21deac-f54c-4dc-9150-290060fb33e4 Did you register the RadUpoladProgressHander in web.config? Please see the help for more details: RadUpload for ASP.NET Ajax-configuration-RadUploadProgressHandler. Then I click the OK button and get a 500 error screen. Any ideas? This seems a little over my head and I have never had this sort of problem before. Thanks, Julien

What url? I think avatars have to come off your local machine as an upload. Is it on your machine or some other web site? If it's on a website... save as it to some temp folder and then when you are in the avatar dialog you browse to that folder and find the file. best regards, mike

The site has been particularly buggy recently. There are a bunch of folks upstairs getting the same error trying to PM a guy about a tool he wrote for Sonar. I've been experiencing the odd super lag when loading pages and I can't seem to post images anymore using BB code like I usually do. Something's up.

The site will periodically go down for me, in that I can't load anything. I have to wait 10 minutes and try again. It's very annoying. It's like they're shutting it down for maintenance or something.

Have any of you tried updating Java? That was one of the recommended fixes for odd problems like this. I'm seeing the 500 error when I try to send a PM, but haven't had any other troubles. The message still goes through even though I get that error.

On a forum I'm helping moderate the talk was that the JAVA update thing did have something to do with it..but there seems to be a lot of sites experiencing issues with ISP's throttling their sites as well. Bandwidth is becoming a rarity here?

Amazon's aws servers have been getting hacked the past couple days. Maybe that's it. Oh, great... I just saw a Lifelock commercial on TV. When I think about hackers I always think I should either lock my credit or sign up for lifelock or some other protection. The local comsumer guru, Clark Howard, swears by just locking your credit. There is a small fee if you want to unlock it for some purchase but I mostly use my debit card or AMEX.... I will update Java, maybe that will help. BTW, these pictures are downloaded onto my computer. I have also been experiencing trouble with a couple of people I follow on Facebook too. In the last couple of weeks, I have noticed the lack of a "comment" option on one and neither a "like" or a "comment" option on another, both still have "share" options though. I thought this morning that I would try "unfollowing" them, sign out, run a cleaner, sing in again, and follow again. I wonder if that will help. I am pretty sure that FB censors some conservative talk, I've seen posts disappear.... between computer problems, hackers, and server problems I am surprised anything works. I wonder if I'll have internet access in whatever FEMA camp I end up in. J

Check the format and location. It's been a while, but I vaguely remember getting something like that when I tried to post an image that was too large. It seems to be a generic message.

I'm having the same problem here I've tried in IE8, Firefox and Chrome and I get the same error as the OP. What an unprofessional piece of crap this forum software is. And what a pisspoor advert for a so-called 'serious' software company. If guys like us are singularly unimpressed by it, imagine what it looks like to a prospective customer Not good. I'm still going to purchase my CA-2A T-Type Leveling Amplifier upgrade though

I had the same issue w/ Safari for as long as I can remember. Firefox seemed to work. Haven't tried it recently though. The forum has been buggy here in the last few days.

I noticed that the Harmony Central forums have shiny new software. I don't use it but it looks nice. I tried to see what it is but I can't seem to see a label on it or a webmaster link. J

I see the 500 error sending PMs which still go through apparently so apologies to all of you that have received the same PM several times. The other thing I don't understand is if I try and change something in my personal information I get the "signature maximum" which I'd understand had I actually changed my signature but it's complaining about the same sig I've been using. I agree that the forum software is need of being put to death some TLC.
