Track manager not behaving

Several issues I am having with the track manager right now.

1. Track manager will not show up when console view has the focus. Neither form a keyboard shortcut or from the console views->strips menu.

2. Track view and console view will not keep track visibility synced up even with the box checked in the track manager.

3. Moving a console strip whose corresponding track is in a track folder moves it out of the folder in the track view.

I am assuming that this is unique to me since I have not heard anyone else complain.  Is there a settings file I can try to reset or something?

Your help is appreciated.

    Oh, by the way,

    Sonar X2a, windows 7 x64

Nobody has any ideas.  Maybe I will see if my other projects do this.

I had one project where trackmanager wouldn't show up, and I couldn't hide strips with shortcuts in consoleview. It did work in another screenset though. And it worked in trackview the whole time. Other projects haven't had this issue.

I haven't seen that, but I have seen something odd with folders that's kind of related.

Say for example you have multiple folders with multiple tracks in each folder. You tell Sonar to clone track 3 starting at track 4, half the time it will work as expected (A duplicate track will appear directly below track 3 in track 3's folder) ... and half the time it will throw the cloned track in one of the other folders and you have to go hunting for it.
I am assuming that this is unique to me since I have not heard anyone else complain.
It's not unique to you. I just noticed it the other night. Track Manager will not come up in Console View. Not sure if this is a bug or intended behavior, but it would be nice to have it available in any view.

    I'm running X2 Build 308 (That's X2 with the 1st Quick Fix and not the A-Patch)

I think I'm misunderstanding your question. I didn't think you could move Console Strips at all?

Yep, you can move console strips. You hold ALT, i think, and click in an empty area and drag.

Sweet! I didn't know that. But it's not usable anyway. I just tried it ... and yes, it's messed up.

I have 3 folders, Vocal, Guitar, Drums.

I have 3 guitar parts. I tried to move the last one to the middle position and it took it out of the Guitar folder and put it in the Drum folder. That would make sense if I moved it next to the snare or the kick track, but I didn't. I sat it in between the other two guitar parts in the Guitar folder.

So yeah, it's messed up too.

The other thing that happens is, if you try to move a track to the bottom position in a folder, it takes it out of the folder. You always have to rearrange from the bottom up. I know it's kind of knit picking, but all these tiny little things add up when working with folders and it gets frustrating at times, especially in a larger project.

I've seen weirdness like this but only with projects not started in X2

New projects behave as you would expect

Unfortunately I can confirm that this is not the case on my system.

This project is a brand new started in X2 w/QF 1.

    Sorry Bristol_Jonesey :(

Mine is a project started in X2 as well.

Looks like I will be putting in a bug/tech support request for this. I will let you know if I get any resolution

I'm also seeing the same issues, with projects started in X2.

I've also reported a problem that selecting tracks does not scroll the consolve to make the new selected track visible (as it did until X1d) which is cumbersome in larger projects.

    Damn, bugger & blast.

Don't know what to suggest, other than sending the project to Cakewalk to see if they can shed some light.

I may not have the answer, but I can relay something that works for me since I use the Track Manager all the time to show and hide tracks (I typically only show the tracks I'm working on or caring about at the moment so that I'm not distracted by other tracks). My suggestion is if you're moving tracks or folders up or down to show all the tracks/folders in the region that you're moving stuff before you make the move. When I do this I don't seem to have the issues I read in this thread, but when I don't do that I do experience some similar issues to what is mentioned above.

Two internal 2TB SSDs laptop stuffed with Larry's deals and awesome tools. Studio One is the cat's meow as a DAW now that I've migrated off of Sonar. Using BandLab Cakewalk just to grab old files when migrating songs.
