[Solved] Sonar Platinum Lifetime starts in demo mode 50% of the time

Almost every time I start up Platinum Lifetime, it goes to demo mode.
I have to close it down and restart.. Most of the time on the second start, it activates fine.
I have tried starting inside of the Command Center and standalone.  It doesn't seem to matter.
Any advise on how to remedy this would be appreciated.

Hi, and welcome to this forum. You could try an offline activation.

im with Ken, try off line activation.
its possibly/probably your internet connection dropping out.

Sonar should operate reliably without an internet connection.

I agree, but if the connection drops out at the time SONAR is checking membership status, it could happen. That is why I suggested offline activation.

In my experience with yearly membership Sonar does not check membership upon startup, so the quality of your connection is irrelevant. I have 2 audio PC's that I connect only to update Sonar, and despite being offline for months at a time Sonar does not go into demo mode. I imagine the lifetime system would work the same way.

That is not to say that an offline activation may not fix whatever the issue is, however. It is certainly worth a try.

Sonar should operate reliably without an internet connection.

if its not set up for offline activation you'll get drop outs if your internet connection is not staying connected.

Just to update everyone.. I used command central and updated the latest version, and I have not had the Demo start up since then.

Thanks for the help and feedback.

Sonar needs no internet connection even if authorized originally via CCC.
I used to disable internet for Sonar via firewall and it always worked just fine.
But I have noticed that projects take much longer to load if there is a NIC present (with internet connection or not) so now I disable the NIC with a batch command when running Sonar.
Sonar has never once opened in Demo mode.

I too activated offline and am getting DEMO mode now. This may be because I moved the downloaded activation file and removed the HDD it was on. Once I reinsert the drive I'll move it to the Sonar directory (where it should be) and report.

OK it's not that I moved the file, response file does not work. Resubmitted old request and imported new response file. Still in DEMO mode.

Had to submit a new request and import the new response before DEMO mode vanished. We'll see for how long this time.

Once Sonar is activated it should remain that way. No changes were applied to any of it's files to trigger DEMO mode.
