hollywood strings and brass

They are half off right now, and I'm thinking of getting them, any thoughts either way, worth the money? Also what about gold versus diamond? Thanks,

Mathew

I have Gold....for the buck it's a great package..I got it this summer during the crazy Waves Sales...
ended up paying $97!!!  Wooo Hoo..

There are some very useful tools in Gold....even more in Platinum and Diamond...

I'll be upgrading to Platinum soon hopefully..

I have the Original NI Version of Orchestra Silver....

    SoundsOnline makes some great instruments...

I think he was refering to the East West Gold and Diamond Versions of their Strings and Brass Libraries..I think Diamond has more mic positions and articulations

I have the gold versions of both. I got them when they first came out so the diamond was out of the question then because of money. HB is awesome right out of the box. Easy to use and sounds great. You will want to use the Hamburg Hall reverb on everything as it makes it sound so sweet. That one was a special verb just for the brass and it is awesome.

HS on the other hand is a beast to learn. You can do incredible stuff with it but it takes some time to get used to it. Way too many options for me in that it took forever to learn the difference in the patches and what applications they are best for. It is also a system resource hog. I am getting ready to upgrade because I need more ram (Only have 8 gigs) even with the gold version. Most people use SSD's with it because the bigger patches lag without the extra speed. Great product but as it was the first and biggest not quite as well laid out and thought out as HB.

Yeah, I might look at getting more ram, I've got 12gb right now, but more probably wouldn't hurt. And it's dirt cheap now days
