Remix Song Submitted

Hey Peeps, a buddy turned me onto this site called indabamusic, I'm sure some of you already know about it and for those that don't...check it out.
They run remix contests as well as a slue of other opportunities for musicians, producers and basement dwellers like me...lol

Anyways, I submitted my first remix for a band called MNDR,(featured on Letterman mid Dec...its on youtube) song "Feed Me Diamonds". Using Sonar X2Pro AND 20 audio tracks, automation lanes out the whazoo with NO issues..lol too soon? I know it's a touchy subject around here.

Any comments and feedback more than welcome.
Hope you enjoy.
Kev.

Hey Kevin, I have just entered a remix comp with Indaba previously with the Galatic song Ha Di Ka. What I found out was that the winning entry basically sounded nothing like the original. Just taking their song and changing it up a bit won't cut it.

I checked out the original in your case and your entry and while I like what you have done you need to get completely away from the original. The idea is to basically come up with a completely different piece of music and just feature some elements of the original.

My entry is still up on my Soundcloud here:

You will have to track down the original somewhere else I guess to see what it was like. I have changed it quite a bit but made the mistake of not straying away enough from the original. Just some ideas.

Without having heard the original, this sounds huge.  The guitar work is very good, and the overall mix is very professional.  Well done.

All the best,
Lynn
