Change channel of CC data?

Hi,

I'm trying to clean up stuff and I'm a bit frustrated with how the MIDI data I'm recording can be on various channels.  For example: On one track, I've got modulation data on channels 1, 9 and 10.  It all works, but it's kind of annoying to edit that on three different CC tracks in the piano roll...

How can I merge them all into one channel for easier editing?  I've seen quick ways to do it for note data ( http://forum.cakewalk.com...mp;high=channel+change ) but what about for CC?

Your help is much appreciated!

    1. Select the track.
    2. Choose Process > Find/Change.
    3. Click the None button.
    4. Put a checkmark next to Control.
    5. Change the Control Min and Max parameters to 1 (the number of the MIDI controller, in this case modulation).
    6. Click OK.
    7. Change the Channel Min and Max parameters to the MIDI channel you want to use.
    8. Click OK.

That should do it. More tips like this in the DigiFreq newsletter: http://www.digifreq.com/digifreq/

    Thanks!

That basically worked.  On the replace screen, though, I had to change the 0 that showed up in the control min parameters there... was kind of weirded out for a moment there!

    Thanks again.

Hmm... Yep, looks like I missed a step. Sorry about that.

For anyone else reading this, add a step after 6 and do this: Change the Control Min and Max parameters to 1.

By the way, I do that Find/Change thing for MIDI channels all the time to direct MIDI notes to the proper sample (e.g., Hollywood Strings with different articulations assigned to different MIDI channels).

    Hey Konrad,

For MIDI notes, it might be easier for you to use the Event Inspector. Check out this video...
