Installing X2

Anyone have any idea on why I'm getting the message (dialog box):

"Please download and run previous packages"

when trying to install X2 from the beginning. I don't have any previous versions of Sonar installed. I have a new computer.

Anyone?

You may need to down load them again. The DL could be corrupted.

Thanks John.    Do I need to have X1 installed first?

No, X2 does not require X1 to be installed. There is a complete list of the files and md5 hash codes (to verify the downloads) at the bottom of http://www.cakewalk.com/s...tion_instructions.aspx

I always download and save to a folder on the desk top.

Once they are there, always check the file size before running to make sure it is what shows on the download links.

I have seen them be way off, empty, etc...

It has saved me a couple times

Rather than relying on file size, a better method would be to use the md5 hash values and a tool like WinMD5Free from http://www.winmd5.com/

You're not trying to install the X2a update without having X2 installed first are you?
have to install X2 then the X2a update.

GTGarner, did you ever get yours to work? I'm having the same issue and can not get it figured out? Thanks
