LE and SE

Whats a (the difference between) LE, SE and Trial software?
Isn't it the same thing, except LE and SE comes in CD form in a audio interface or other package, and you can have it forever?
Or is it better that a trial but still less than bottom-of-the-line product?


Btw what do SE and LE stand for?

    Lite Edition or Special Edition. 

    Depending on the product, they can provide a pretty substantial feature set or miss so many features that they're barely usable, pretty much only a teaser to make you want to upgrade to the flagship version.

    A trial version would usually refer to the full program w/ other limitations - fully working for 14 days, or save-disabled, or audio fading in and out every x seconds.

    Thanks. Does that mean LE/SE doesn't have a time limit, save-disable and etc? (even though the trial alternative does?)

    For example Cubase Trial is 30 day or something. And in Komplete Audio 6 theres a Cubase LE.. that means i have this version of cubase for ever right? (the LE version i mean)

    That's correct Evnabby...

    LE and SE are products..not demos...so you own them..
