Audio Damage release Bitcom - am I missing something

OK, I have to admit to loving Audio Damage plug ins and synths - some of the stuff I have had the longest and still use in nearly every project.
So when the email came through telling me of their new release went straight to the website and listened to the demos - to say I was underwhelmed would be a total understatement.
So I understand this is for a different genre of music to what we do, but still, it just didn't sound any different or any better to what's already out there.

Anyone else tried this and have an opinion??? Have I misinterpreted this?

Bit-crushers have always been a mystery to me. The same practitioners who employ such techniques would berate you for suggesting that 16-bit samples are as good as 24-bit samples. I just hope they're recording that bit-crushed noise at 96KHz. To preserve fidelity, you know.

All else is in doubt, so this is the truth I cling to.

And we should also hope that they're remembering to apply dithering when exporting.
