Anyone using iLok?

I'm having an issue when loging in to the iLok website. I get a Windows message to close ie because the site is not responding and at the bottom of the screen it says the activex control that takes to my ilok is not active or something to thaqt affect. At the same time it communicates with my ilok and eventually the errors go away and it show all my ilok info. I'm using ie 9 on Win 7 64bit.
Also my Antares plugins crash X2 when I open a project or when scaning the vst's. I found a work around but I dodn't want to keep the workaround changes. To get it to work I canged the Data Execution Prevention settings by adding the Sonar program and the iLok Helper Client to this exclude list. I don't think it's a good idea to do this because of what DEP does. Has anyone had this issue?

(Data Execution Prevention (DEP) is a security feature that can help prevent damage to your computer from viruses and other security threats. Harmful programs can try to attack Windows by attempting to run (also known as execute) code from your computer's memory reserved for Windows and other authorized programs. These types of attacks can harm your programs and files.
DEP can help protect your computer by monitoring your programs to make sure that they use computer memory safely. If DEP notices a program on your computer using memory incorrectly, it closes the program and notifies you. )

I gave up on iLok months ago.  Their web site wouldn't recognise my iLok and their 'Help' was useless.  Zero customer service. I won't have any truck with an outfit that isn't bothered to help me.

Make sure you download the VERY latest 64-Bit Windows 7 drivers from the iLok website. Disconnect the iLok when installing the driver, and you may even try getting the iLok working on a Windows 7 32-bit machine if that doesn't work. You only need to active a license on iLok once. Then it just needs to be "seen" bey the Windows machine.

    Hope this helps!

Yep, what brconflict said. You definitely have to have the latest. iLok is working fine here. And you can use any computer to transfer the license so if it doesn't work on one, try a different one. Scott

I did reinstall the latest drivers etc. All my licenses are on the iLok but Sonar would crash (white Screen) and I have to close Sonar. I removed the Antares plugin from the project by starting Sonar in safe mode, then reinstalled the latest iLok software. After that I couldn't get Sonar to see the Antares plugins as well as the issue I get when accessing the webside.

Hopefully keeping Sonar and the ilok software excluded won't be a problem. I had a lot of issues with X2 and maybe having it excluded from the DEP will make it stable. That would be nice. I'll let you know. I also keep the internet, firewall and Norton off when using Sonar. The pc I use is only used for recording, Mixing and video editing.

It's working so far. Fingers crossed...

    Thanks

Yeah, that's one weird thing about the iLok site. They only support older versions of FF so I have to use IE to do the license updates.

Same here.  I have to use IE for the driver to see my iLok.  Other than that no problems and no tweaks or changes to any settings (OS, Registry, Sonar) to get it to work with Sonar X2.

I have to use iLok for a couple of products and everytime there is an update or new product, it is a freaking nightmare.

This is a good read. I have iLok for the Softtube Mix Bundle and the setup was fine and everything works great.  But I'm reading your various notes in here with interest in mental preparation for any additional products I may get that use iLok. Thanks everyone and sorry to hear what some of you have encountered.

Make sure you're using the 32 bit version of IE. The 64 bit version won't work with the site properly.

That said, I've had zero problems with the ilok site. All software running smoothly across several machines.

I was anti iLok for many years and resisted having to use it until EWQLSO had an offer which was too good to pass.

So I bit the bullet, bought & installed an ilok, and it's not presented a single problem.

Installed via 64 bit IE without a hitch

This is what I had to do to get iLok.com to work and my Antares plugs to work in Sonar.  I should let you know that eveything was working fine in Sonar untill after I demo'd Protools. After I removed Protools the problem occured.
