Is there any way to setup a keybinding for....

Can anyone advise if there is a way to keybind to a specific process effects tool found when right-clicking a track?

I want to bind to : (right click) Process Effect > Midi Effects > Cakewalk FX > Velocity

I use this quite often and it can be a bit of a pain to go through 5 clicks to get to the effect itself...

Thanks

No, but you can drag and drop from the Browser instead, which will save all those steps.

Hi, Scott.  I've just read Sonar X1 Power all the way through for the first time!  Is there a way to do a key binding in X1 for resetting all meters?  I do that often, and hate going through the menus.  Or, does that have the same problem as the OP's request?

Hey Will... thanks very much! I hope you enjoyed the book. I know reading all those pages is a daunting task, but it's definitely worth it. I try to tell everyone that they should read it cover-to-cover in order to get the most out of it.

Yep, look for the following in the Key Binding Function list... Reset All Clips and Numeric Peak Indicators.

You should find it under the Global Bindings.

Yeah, it would definitely be easier to find if it was just called Reset All Meters.

Ahh, but there is a thing using it this way - there is no way to press enter to apply it to the track as you can by clicking through the menus use it and then press enter which the changes the data in the track...

If using this method Scott, does the velocity get saved with the midi file for use elsewhere, or is the effect in reality only then availble if using it within a Sonar Project folder?

To illuminate - if I select a transpose change in the Inspector (left side panel) and save the midi as an SMF, the transpose is applied at saving time, does the same happen with the method you describe to use the MIDI effects?

    Thanks

I'm not in the studio at the moment, but yes, I believe it should be applied when you save as MIDI. If not, then you can apply it manually before saving using the Process > Apply Effect > MIDI Effects menu.
