Import MIDI with tempo etc...

Hey guys. I have a bit of a problem. I know you can OPEN a midi and it will come up exactly as is...But what do you do if you want to bring in a MIDI full of tempo and time changes into an existing project? This is an essential part of my workflow and I'm finding no way around it..

Open the MIDI file with the desired tempo map in Sonar.  It will come up as a new stand-alone project.  Then select and copy a track, specifying that tempo events are to be included.  Paste this into your existing project.  If there are note or CC events, paste into a new track that you can delete.  Tempo is global ... there's only one tempo map.  When you paste, it will replace any existing tempo events in the area being pasted into.
