Notes Do Not RING In Midi-track.

Hello!

I have a slight problem; I'm quite new to Music Creator 6 but have been fiddling with it bu0 It don't seem to find the solution to this problem:

When I import a midi-track to MC6 and set it as a PIANO, the notes do not ring through each other... For an example; when a chord is played, the chord notes don't ring through the next individual notes that are played. I want all the notes to ring through one and other.

Any advice?

Cheers!

    Welcome to the forum.
Do you mean like when you step on a real piano's sustain pedal?
The MIDI file you imported may not contain that data, but if you open that track's Staff view, you can add pedal events to make the notes sustain.

Keep in mind too, especially when editing.... each midi note has an on signal and an off signal in the note.

If you have 2 notes ...exactly the same pitch....and lets say one is a whole note and the one following it is a whole note.... and you edit the first one to be slightly longer..... so that it now ends slightly after the second note starts..... the second note will never sound.

On the staff, it will look normal..... but in the world of midi.... you will have an on signal.... followed by another on signal on the same note followed by an off signal and another off signal.  Only the first note gets played.

This used to blow my mind until I figured it out one day looking at the note duration.

It will not happen if you are playing the notes in from a keyboard. It can happen easily if you start to edit the notes manually by dragging notes around.

    What synth are you using?
TTS-1 supports multiple voices and will allow notes to play through, while the MS Wavetable Synth is less sophisticated, and may truncate previous notes.
