Sonar Home Studio 6XL run on W7 64bit?

I've seen contradicting posts.

IIRC, HS6 is a 32bit program.

What should I be concerned with if running HS6 on 64bit W7?

Also, am I correct in assuming that if I want to take advantage of VST / DXI plugs and instruments which came with later / pro versions of Sonar, that it would have to be 32bit versions of the VST's / DXI's installed?

Just wondering.

The SONAR Home Studio disk has both the 32-bit and 64-bit versions on it. You can install either one or both if you want to. DX effects and DX instruments will not work with the 64-bit version on a 64-bit OS.
When I first installed the 32-bit SHS 6 on this 64-bit Win 7 computer, everything worked fine.
But, I later installed the 64-bit version and that "did something" so that not everything worked in the 32-bit version. Strange.
But this isn't my music computer, so it wasn't a problem for me.

There is a 64-bit version on the HS6 disk?  I must have ignored that, because when I had HS6, I was running 32-bit XP.  It's a **** getting old.

Thanks for the reply.

Okay. I just opened it up to see what was there and what worked.
I loaded the 32-bit version.
All of the DX instruments I have that came with the program worked (Dimension LE, Roland Groove Synth, TTS-1).
Most of the DX effects worked while others gave me the 'missing or improperly installed' message.
The few VST effects I have worked.
The 2 VST instruments I have worked (DropZone and Square 1).

I am considering moving onto W7 as well and not sure I understand. 1) is there a 64-bit version of 6XL? 2) Has anyone run it on W7?

1) Yes. When you install from the disk you get the option to install the 32- or 64-bit version.
2) I haven't, on advice form another forumite, so all the DXs will work.
Which is kinda silly on my part; I hardly ever use them.
But my music computer is XP 32-bit and everything works fine there.
